Brookings Health System’s Wound Center is encouraging the community to donate socks from now until the end of February during the fourth annual “Every Sole Deserves a Sock” drive. All new pairs of socks donated during the drive will be given to The Salvation Army of Brookings to help struggling individuals and families in Brookings County.

CA Podiatrist Creates Anti-Fungal Product Line
Throughout her career, Nasim Kalhor, DPM has treated patients with chronic fungal infections from toenail fungus to athlete’s foot. To help you avoid a shock on filing day, here are six common ways you could be paying more income taxes than necessary.
1A. You overlooked the new 2025 tax credits and deductions
The 2025 Trump/GOP tax and spending bill introduced a wave of temporary tax incentives that could significantly alter your income return this filing season.
For instance, new car owners may be eligible for a car loan interest deduction, and workers earning tips or overtime may now qualify for targeted tax breaks. With the federal tax code in such a state of flux, it’s easier than ever to overlook a major deduction or credit.
However, new and continuing tax breaks come with strict eligibility requirements, most notably income phase-outs. If your earnings exceed specific thresholds, certain tax breaks disappear, leading to a higher tax bill than anticipated.

I would like to thank Dr. Jacobs for his thorough review of the complexity of evaluation and treatment of lower extremity lymphedema and PVD/PAD. To make things more complicated, podiatrists should also be aware of lipedema as a cause of swelling and enlarged tissue in the legs, thighs, and even the upper extremities.
